Textbooks

Textbooks is for browsing public catalog exercises through a textbook structure.

Use this page when you are planning around a book, chapter, section, or course sequence and want exercises aligned to that structure.

Textbook List

The Textbooks page shows textbook collections available in the public catalog. You can:

  • search textbook names
  • scan authors, editions, and subjects when available
  • open a textbook to browse its chapters and exercises
  • request a textbook when the book you need is not available

The textbook search on this page searches textbook entries. It is separate from exercise search.

Textbook Detail Pages

Opening a textbook takes you to that textbook's exercise-browsing page.

A textbook detail page can include:

  • a textbook header
  • an Outline for chapters and sections
  • exercise search
  • filters for content state, exercise type, difficulty, and review status when available
  • results aligned to the selected chapter or section

The outline lets you move through the textbook structure. Select a chapter or section before searching when you want results from a specific part of the book.

When to Use Textbooks

Use Textbooks when:

  • your course follows a book or chapter sequence
  • you want exercises aligned to a textbook section
  • you are building assignments from a specific book
  • topic browsing is too broad for the way your class is organized

Use Topics when you care more about the concept than the textbook source.

Tips

  • Open the textbook first, then choose the chapter or section from the outline.
  • Add search terms after selecting a chapter when the aligned results are still broad.
  • Clear filters if the selected chapter or section appears empty.
  • Use All Exercises when you want to search published community exercises outside a textbook structure.
